Ordering Information

Here you will find everything you need for collection and shipping your horse hair, pet fur or ashes!

When you place your order online you will have the option of paying at that time through PayPal or by entering your credit card information - you also have the option to pay later, this is useful when ordering something custom, if you want to pay in cash or by etransfer. Payment may be made by etransfer, credit card, check (made payable to Verstara) or cash.

Most  of the horsehair jewelry does not take much hair at all! Comb through your horses  tail to get out all debris and tangles. Do NOT use any detanglers,  conditioners or oil. The best place to take the hair is from the bottom  of the tail bone. For most pieces a fingers thickness is sufficient. You  can take several clippings of hair without noticing anything missing.   Band the hair where you cut it and loosely coil into a ziplock baggie.  Do NOT braid or knot the hair. If your horse has already passed, feel free to send me what you have. I  return everything I do not use in your order. This will allow me to pick  the best hairs to use! If your hair is less than 12" long or all you have is mane hair, your options may be limited to certain itmes, please contact me to  see what is available. Hair from several different horses can be combined into one piece.

If you send in hair that does not meet the required length or thickness you will be asked to supply more hair or have the option to use stock hair. Custom pieces including metals (gold, sterling silver etc) will not be refunded due to insufficient hair.

Please  make sure to label  your ziplock baggie so it can be matched up with  your order when it arrives. You can include your name and contact info  on a piece of paper, or print and send your order confirmation. It  is recommended that you get tracked shipping so we can keep an eye on  it through the mailing process. Verstara is not responsible for any  packages lost through the mail.

Most  jewelry cannot be resized after completion. Please be sure of the  sizing when sending in your order. If no size is given for bracelets  they will be made to 7 1/4" which tends to fit most people. To get a  good wrist measurement take a tight wrist measurement and add 1"For horsehair rings, if you are not sure of the size please visit your local jewelry and ask for a finger sizing with a 6mm band. For all wide bands (Kimberwick  Wide, Zara Wide and Sparkle - please make sure to add 1/2 size to your regular ring size, or be sized with an 8mm band)

Cremation Ash - Place a few table spoons of ashes into a ziplock baggie. Seal the bag and place it into a second bag to seal again.

Pet Fur or hair - About a thumb print's worth of hair is sufficient for most pieces, please feel free to send extra so I have more to choose from. I always return the hair/fur I do not use.  ***IF THE HAIR OR FUR IS WHITE OR LIGHT IN COLOR, IT MAY TURN TRANSLUCENT DURING THE CURING PROCESS***

Please allow up to 6-8 weeks for all horsehair, pet fur and cremation orders. Each piece is made to order and takes time to complete. If a rush order is required please contact me first to ensure I have space.

All ready to ship items that have been purchased will be sent within 3 business days.

Yes! Verstara carry's several colors of horsehair that has all been generously donated by previous clients. NONE of the stock hair is supplied as a slaughter by-product.

Refunds/Returns are not offered on any custom orders. Every effort is made before production to ensure your order is exactly how you want it. If you have ordered a ready to ship piece that has not been customized or personalized, it can be exchanged.

I am so glad you asked this! Yes! Turning jewelry that is collecting dust into something fresh, new and unique is so much fun! As a general rule, we will reuse your stones into a new piece for you and give credit towards the gold from your old piece. However, if reusing the gold is exremely imporant to you, we can make exceptions.

While I deeply sympathize with you that your very special, and meaningful piece is no longer showing it's former glory, I will not be able to set a new weave into your ring. Verstara uses a unique design within our rings that holds and protects the hair. It is completely unique to Verstara and because of that I am confident the weaves will stand the test of time. The ring you purchased from another company will not have this same feature and therefore I cannot guarantee the same life expectancy of any weave I place into it. I suggest contacting the company you purchaed it from to ask about their warranty or what they can do for you.
